New Member Orientation


[Note these were the dates for the 2016-2017 training season. This page is still up because the information is useful to let prospective Leggers get an idea of how it all works, but the dates for the 2017-2018 season haven’t been set yet. Check back this summer for those or get on our mailing list.]

Completing a marathon or half-marathon is a life-changing event. But getting there can be daunting.

Take the first step by attending L.A. LEGGERS New Member Orientation. Choose whichever session best fits your schedule:

  • Saturday, July 23, 2016 7:30 a.m.
  • Saturday, July 30,2016  7:30 a.m.

You don’t have to RSVP or fill anything out to attend New Member Orientation. Just show up.

Sessions take place at 1450 Ocean in Santa Monica. Directions >>

Dress to run or walk a mile, and make sure you bring water.

You’ll get a chance to:

  • learn about the L.A. LEGGERS and how our training program works.
  • do a trial mile and get guidance on which pace group works best for you.
  • meet your pace-group mentors.
  • pick up your shirt, if you’ve already signed up to join the L.A. LEGGERS.

If you are a walker, you’ll also get a short overview of how the L.A. LEGGERS program works for walkers.

Can’t make it? Yes, you can still join

We strongly encourage new members to attend, but if you can’t make it to either date, don’t worry. Just show up for Opening Day at 6:45 am on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016. Before you come, read these guidelines:
